Virtual group lessons by Coach Jeff are unique and teach the best technique so players can enjoy more success.

When learning physical skills, a person usually transfers what they hear, see and feel into their memory. Auditory, visual and kinesthetic learning creates "memories" in the brain that can be weak or strong, depending upon a variety of actions. Tennis, like other skills, can be learned through listening, observing, and physically moving the body and racquet. All three are necessary, but how can effective tennis skills be learned at an accelerated rate?

As a long time teaching pro, I have tried to help players develop very effective skills with smaller amounts of time, energy and money. Since my undergraduate studies in Psychology, I have been very curious how the brain learns, and how this learning can be applied to tennis.

In a normal on court tennis lesson, teachers usually give a description of the skill for the lesson, then they demonstrate, and finally they have the student demonstrate and practice the skill. In an hour quality on court lesson, normally there are about 10 to 15 minutes of describing, and demonstrating skills. The coach has to create a balance between auditory, visual, and kinesthetic teachings while keeping students engaged and having fun.

This is a very difficult scenario, expecially if the coach wants to give the students tennis skills that will enhance their future development and enjoyment.

This is where online learning steps in and helps "set the stage" for the practice court. Train the brain for gain. When players understand the visual and explained details of highly effective researched technique, and THEN go on the court, the student can focus on court with more of the physical actions. This frees up the court time to focus on repetitions and kinesthetic learning.

Online group and private lesson analysis does exactly this. It creates a strong understanding of what works in technique and why. Then the student can go on the court with a plan to imitate, or duplicate physically what they had just learned.

Tennis is great exercise. It is a very "physical" sport. But the players that have played a while know it is a challenging sport MENTALLY. The mental
